For my significant writing project, I chose the first essay we did about our favorite food. I thought that I had a lot of improvement between my first and final draft. Since this was out very first piece of writing, I did not really know how to approach the essay. I was so used to high school writing where it was less about content and more about getting words written down. Through this first piece, I realized that the content and flow of ideas was more important than word count. The most important local concern that I dealt with in the essay was punctuation errors, I found that I made many mistakes throughout my essay with commas and I need to go back and carefully look so that I could add them in the right places. Other than this, I did not have many other local errors that I needed to fix. The biggest global error that I found was where to place my thesis and how to word it. I knew what I wanted to explain throughout my essay and the main points that I wanted to bring up, but I was not sure how I wanted to word it so that it would make sense to the reader and be able to preview what the rest of my essay was going to be about. After the peer review and the conferences, I was able to get a much better understanding of where to include this as well as how to word it.
