MLA guidelines are one of the most important things to know when writing an essay or any other piece of work. I have been using MLA format since the beginning of high school and I even used it a little in middle school. I know most of the guidelines pretty well, like font, font size, and spacing but there was some part of MLA format that we did not touch on a ton in my past. Having last name with page number in the top right-hand corner was not pushed on me to do in high school but in college, I had to do it. Local errors were also not emphasized in high school but I took them much seriously in this class. I found that by just fixing the local errors in my essay, I was able to improve it and it shows that I put time into my work. For example, leaving out a comma was not that big of a deal for me prior to this class, but I have found that by just adding a comma I am able to improve the flow and structure of my essay drastically
